Gusts over 30mph! That's not fun, but it's not dangerous. Yes, it will f*** up your pacing if you're doing speedwork, but you deal with it.
If branches are coming off trees or tiles are coming off rooves then you can think about staying in.

It is ass-poundingly windy out there today. Gusts over 30mph. Do you ever skip a run because its too windy? Am I a total whimp for wanting to skip today?
I too hate running in the wind. You're not a wimp for wanting to skip, but you will be a WIMP if you end up not running because of wind.
Yeah, stay inside. 'Oprah' will be on soon.
"Today on OPRAH:
Windy Days and the Runners Who Fear Them"
run in the wind, you pussy!
ever consider that it might better prepare you for adverse race conditions- or that it might make your run tomorrow that much more enjoyable?
I hate running into the wind but you get rewarded if you go straight out into the wind and aim for a big neg split with the wind at your back.
I went out once on a windy day, started running by some LARGE trees lying on their sides, and decided that a nice city run, away from the woods, was called for. What I really dreaded was the gusts from the side.
30mph? That is crap we get upwards of 60mph gust here in Boulder with steady 20-30 mph winds
When the wind starts blowing, the tough keep running.
I like running in thewind - go halfway against it, and then run back like a sailboat
get out there you PUSSY

I was going to suggest having her pick you up after the run, but your way is even better. The wind at your back is a glorious thing.
you have to be kidding me. you are complaining about 30 mph gusts. try having to do a 400 workout in 50mph gusts winds constantly at 25-30. The joys of living in the deserts. Believe me I love training in the high winds because when a race comes along and it is windy it is not a big deal.
Who cares if its too windy. I was going backwards at times and it just helps build endurance. Why? I must have added a couple of miles on my regular run. Not to mention the added energy need to run that.
you want wind? Come to boulder!
I ran my best half marathon in years into sustained 30 mph winds. Two summers ago we had a gust reach past 100--blew the pressbox off the stands at the track and put a hole in the indoor facility. Get off yer ass and kwitcherbitchen.
you might cut back on a 20 miler but other than that I usually head out, besides it keeps things interesting.
