Just a quick poll do you think its better to get in one long run a day or to split it up into two runs?
I know Lydiard and Wetmore at Colorado emphasize singles and a lot of other reccomend doubles to avoid injury

I'm a fan of single, the aerobic benefits are clear, but under certain conditions.
If you don't have the time to do doubles, do singles, the mileage is important.
If you can't hold the same pace for singles that you can for doubles, then do doubles, a good pace is important for quality mileage.
If you run 6:40's for two sets of 5 miles, but only 7 flat for 10 miles, then maybe think about spliting doubles, or pushing some of those middle miles of your 10.
It's your body, it's your decision, do what feels good.
