I used to not be a hobby jogger and I wore shorts over tights. I think it looks cool. I think tights alone looks retarded. If you want to be a ballerina fairy then go be a ballerina fairy.
Not in fashion. I actually usually wear shorts underneath of my tights when it's really cold so my member doesn't freeze. But I don't put the shorts over top because of this fashion faux pas.
I think we had this discussion a year ago where it seemed to be coming really into fashion on the streets. Here in NY, you see it everywhere (apart from athletes), tho generally those shorts reach knee length and aren't meant for running.
Wearing tights without shorts over them is code for "I'M GAYER THAN COMe ON A MUSTACHE"

I have never seen a collegiate runner wear shorts over their tights. I've only seen out of shape men and self conscious kids wear shorts over their tights.
I don't do shorts over tights unless it's really cold, and it doesn't get that cold where I live. Rarely below 40.

and if you find it more comfortable, it is perfect.
quit worrying about what other people think or do. Would you sell your SUV just because your neighbor likes convertibles?
Saw some dude wearing shorts over tights AND socks pulled up over the tights!
Our whole basketball team wears shorts over tights and they are playing INSIDE!! Most of the other teams have also followed this trend.

It looks ridiculous.....
Anyone telling you that shorts over tights looks ridiculous is only telling you that because they are trying to see some dicklines. Please, please, wear some shorts over those tights if you are a guy

Love to see some good dick lines. And the guys who wear shorts over tights are trying to hide their chodes.
I would do it, but the liner in the shorts hit the tights weird making it uncomfortable. And I refuse to subscribe to the sexism over the matter. Women wear only tights all the time, but for a guy to do it it's disgusting? Nothing wrong with a camel tail

Because shorts are not outerwear. I might as well wear a sports bra over my jacket.
You should work on your self esteem. Who cares what other people think regarding your clothing choices? Wear whatever works for you, and everyone who is critical can live in their own little world of worrying about stuff that doesn't matter.
I wear shorts over tights but when I do i purposely wear basketball length shorts. Tiny split shorts over tights are just as bad as tights by themselves and really make you look like a ballerina dancer. If I go to the gym or a store after a run in tights and long shorts I don't feel self conscious or out of place.
If you're doing a track workout or in a race, tights are fine by themselves but for just a run through the neighborhood tights by themselves are a little exhibitionist.
