no i dont think there "so great" ..
i think it is a good distance to train for a marathon(a real race) and not get injured.

yeah whatever

Yeah, when she tapers and adds a little speed work, she'll be breaking 3:30 for the marathon.
Now I understand. She's not a runner but a walker. 3.75mph is walking pace. So she walked 300 miles in however many days. Big f***ing deal.
Big f***ing deal...she poked along at 4 mph for 80 hours or so...that's not running folks, it's walk-jogging in your sleep.
Any sub 2:45 marathoner could do that with a healthy supply of coffee, ibuprofen, water, and power bars.
I have much more respect for someone who climbs Mt. Everest or even runs a sub 2:45 marathon. The only slightly brow-raising accomplishment here is staying awake for 80 hours. Shit, cokeheads and speed freaks do that all the time. As far as her male counterpart that was on 60-minutes...he should get a f***ing life too.
Well said. Ann must be pissed...where the f*** was 60 minutes when she was kicking ass and taking names.
Ann is prettier too.
This was a publicity stunt Any f***ing yokel can run 300 plus miles they just don't beg for the attention like these hgh using grandmothers do Danza-letterman it's the same reason everyone is running marathons these days to tell everyone they did it If a 90 year old man can jog a marathon I don't see why a perfectly healthy young individual of any running background can't run 300 plus

I rest my case. How DARE Pam Reed insult the serious runners by doing the pitiful thing she did? My God, the woman has nerve. She's.....a couch-potato, really. One step away from that. Oooh oooh oooh.
You are a f***ing jackass. You have no f***ing idea how these bias numbers are calculated. Do you know the population size, the sampling, the variances, the factors that determine the biases? Of course you don't asshole! And neither do I. You give some piece-of-shit data based on averages for given month. Are you f***ing nuts! Drastic temperature, humidity and wind changes can occur within a f***ing hour and you give me averages for a f***ing month. Did you not read what I wrote? The biases are calculated for that specific day of the race. Don't give me crap about averages for a month shit-brains! The same goes with each individual performances. You have no f***ing idea how much a bias can change within a given year. It can go up or it can go down, as to how much? Who f***ing knows! You have to re-calibrate each year based on whatever factors AARS uses. And based on their results, yes I would definitely question their validity.
A complete asshole
A complete asshole
As a signature line, that description fits you to a "tee".
As to the rest, I would be willing to bet that AARS is a whole lot more reliable than Runner's World.
Why don't you respond to my question - how did Runner's World calculate it's ratings?
If you know so much about the AARS rating system why can't you explain the rating system of the reference you gave?
Why don't you explain how Runner's World's results are weighted for the factors you mention?
Why don't you give us the high/low temperatures, humidity factors (humidity in the desert! Are you smoking crack?) and wind speeds on the days the St. George marathon was held for the last 5 years and tell us how they affected the marathon bias?
I'll tell you why, it's because you are a know-nothing piece of shit. Now f*** off back to your doublewide and watch America's Most Wanted, your sister is on tonight, you dirty cracker.
"Tucsonan Pam Reed took more than three days, but she ran 300 miles nonstop. She finished this afternoon at 1:57 - three minutes short of 80 hours."
Great they got a quote from Karnazas that he could-woulda-shoulda run the full 300 if he ran a "pussy" course like Reed. What a wanker!
Lotta respect for Reed's tenacity, but I'd hate to be her dermatologist!
Not really all that impressed... 300 miles is a lot... but that pace comes out to under 4 miles per hour...
get off the couch and do that then buddy.
i can't even stay awake that long
she did NOT run "non stop." they take breaks and walk during these things. that is NOT running "non stop."
does a gallowaker "run non stop?"
Is this woman a legit ultra runner or just doing some stuff locally in Tucson to sell her book?
I am NOT picking an argument, but until a month or so ago I never HEARD of this woman.
Is she going to challenge Ann Trason?
whatre you talking about? she's VERY legit and has won badwater two (or was it 3 times). and she was on letterman like a year ago.
To be very fair, it would be quite hard to go 80 hours without using the bathroom or eating anything. It's quite an accomplishment, even if she broke running stride from time to time.
She most certainly did both.
She must have went in her shorts if she ran the 300 mi nonstop ... "Sunburnt and sporting badly chapped lips, she chatted with supporters and the press for 15 minutes after the run." ..... sorry, that has freak written all over it
