You continually demonize "Them" and then expect them to play nice. You think YOU are always are in the right and THEY are wrong. You say they should listen to you, while you are completely unwilling to extend the same courtesy. This phenomenon is prevalent on both sides, and why this election was going to result in ~20-25% of the country being stark raving mad no matter who won.

Why did Trump win?
Because of the electoral college and swaying the votes of a subset of Midwesterners and Floridians.
He also did a better job selling the "us vs them" argument and successfully herding enough people into his corner rather than the left did herding people into their corner.
