And am I crazy to think it can be done without having done much binge-drinking training?

Impossible.
I have done this. The only hard part is the running, so you'll be okay if you have been running decent mileage. The beer drinking is actually pretty easy if you just drink domestic beer. A group of us did this in Tahoe. Think in tens. Ten beers and ten miles every ten hours. You'll need to factor in sleep, which is the hard part. You may want to start/end with two 20 milers to make sure that you can get at least two solid sleep sessions.
The thing is that you cannot do anything else. It's not like you'll be heading out to get some things done in between runs. If you do it alone, it would be pretty depressing, so you'll need a partner (or 10).
Are you prepared?
How is it a triple? One of them just happens without you doing anything so it should be a double. And why not run the 100 in the first day and chill all weekend/other 76 hrs drinking beer?

Try it and you'll see why the 100 hours is quite possibly the one thing that makes it close-to-impossible. The timing is everything. Also, go try to drink 100 beers after running a 100 Miler. Not so easy.
Go for it you will be a hero. Maybe that 2 ashes up 800 guy nick something can join you. About time he tried to get himself in the news again
This is reminiscent of the good old days here where a kid did 3 miles (I think) every hour for 24 hours and reported here every hour. It was one of the all time great threads.
You don't need the beers. Just run 100 miles in 100 hours.

Has anyone actually finished that?
We task you to attempt legendary status. Please do it and report back. Keep a detailed log while you are crushing back natty light.

Robert Young averaged 65 miles a day. In 100 hours, that is over 250 miles!
100 miles in 100 hours is not impressive...

I thought is was the called Tricentennial instead of Triple Century, with the Bicentennial being 100 miles, 100 beers, 1 week.
I would have respect for a Bicentennial of 100 beers in 100 hours

I missed that thread. Anyone have a link to it?
The 100 beers bit is quite misleading - are we talking 330ml bottles, 500's, pints?
I would do one beer and one mile on the hour, then go straight back to sleep once its done. I'd probably even drink the beer while I was running to save time. Each hour you'd have 10 minutes awake/50 minutes sleeping. Since you're body likely can process one beer per hour, you'd never even catch a buzz. If you use this method, you will have slept for 83.33 hours and are awake for 16.67 hours.
If you really wanted a longer sustained sleep, you could do two miles/beers back to back and sleep for 100 minutes.
It sounds doable to me, but it also sounds miserable. Also, I think a sleep cycle takes like 2-3 hours to complete, so you'd never reach the REM state, and I remember reading somewhere that a few days with no REM does permanent mental damage.
I'd just drink the 100 beers and leave it at that.

I thought it was just 2 miles every hour for 24 hours but it might have been 3 miles every hour.
That was a great, great thread! Very entertaining to read the updates.
Maybe it was about 4 years or so ago?
Already been done. Maybe. Never really verified and we all know LR loves calling out a possible cheater.
Get outta here with your euro trash mL and pints.
Cans, baby. Just get cans of Busch light. Not the tallboys or pounders, or whatever. Straight up cans.
I'm pretty sure a Can is a unit of measurement.

It was already done by Fast Guy, circa 2011. He has the current world record (as far as we know) for 100 beers 100 miles (finished in 79 hours I think). The burden of proof was pretty high. We set up a twitter account and filmed the final mile and posted regular updates
It's got to be pints.
You can't suddenly go metric when you still measure field events in feet!
Some guy at the 2016 Javelina Jundred was trying to drink 100 beers in 100 miles before the 30 hour cutoff.
He ended up getting in a confrontation with the crew chief at Jackass Junction, and he lost his mojo and quit the race.
There was a thread about this on facebook. Maybe someone else can elaborate.
