I am in my second year of highschool. So far in my highschool career I have been a severe let down to my coaches and team. They and I know I can go faster. My freshman year of cross was okay, and I almost broke 19 in the 5k. I had a pretty good track season, my best times was a 512 in the mile. My sophmore year in cross country was awful, I only improved my freshman time by a couple seconds. I got really lazy over the summer, and did not train. I have a plan on have a kick butt track season. Swimming starts tomorrow, and I think it's super helpful. I contribute my good track season to swimteam. You swim 2.5 hours a day, 1 hour lifting sessions 3 days a week, and abs everyday. I have a plan on running before school to. I was thinking 3 miles a day 3 days a week. I was wondering if thats enough, to little, or to much? Swimteam already has a lot of working out. Also, what pace should I do those runs? How much does diet effect running? I feel like my diet is a part that slows me down. What are ways I can have a diet that helps my running? Are there any other little things I can do everyday or so that will help me come track season, such as certain stretches or form drills?
