At the OR MS Meet of Champs, it took a 4:30 to win the girl's 1500. It only took a 4:17 to win the boy's 1500. Why can these 8th grade girls run elite HS times, but the boys run not even state-qualifying times?
Also, the winning boy's 800 was 2:06 while the winning girl's one was 2:14. Is this normal??!!!

These meet results are from last spring.
Girls can peak a lot younger (in middle school) where boys generally have to hit puberty before they can get faster
100 MPW and delayed puberty makes for fast young girls.
I call bs. Those times are faster than nationals for that age group.
