You know those big bird things, how fast could they run 12k? I think about 8 minutes or thereabouts. Probably faster if they could stay on the course and know how to go around those cones and stuff. But they re not smart because they have such small heads, almost like they got mouse head on a human body.

Oh i wouldnt want to cheat or nothin though. I was just thinking about how they can get away from a lion and run and run like a bird that is flying but really isn't becuase it's too big for flight. These birds are amazing creatures and I went to a farm for them one time and they are as mean as any bird ever and the tour guide said that one guy was cleaning his cage when the bird kicked at him in wrong area, if you know what I mean, and now the guy with one testecle has a lawsuit against the farm, but how are you going to sue a bird? Birds don't even have money, what a moron, oh how I laugh.
He will never win the lawsuit. It is pretty common knowledge to wear a cup when cleaning osterich cages. What a dumbass.

50 kph! Wow, are we talking about an American ostrich or one of African descent? Unless the ostrich is doped up more than Barry Bonds, there is no way an American ostrich could run that fast. Most American ostriches are too busy drinking Starbucks coffee, surfing letsrun, and talking about how they are going to start a Lydiard program tomorrow, after tonights big keg party, to actually perform at 50 kph for 30 minutes.

An ostrich can't run 12K in 8 minutes. But for the ostderich and even the lowly osterich, it's another matter entirely. If you can dream it, they can do it!

If your hypothetical Osterich were running in flats I'd say around 12 minutes. In trainers, probably about 15 minutes or so.
This is of course assumoing he'd built up a sizeable base first and was grazing on nothing but organic ruffage. Add to that some drills, weights, plyometrics, massage, physiotherapy, stretching, yoga, pilates, visualization techniques, arometherapy, mud baths, accupuncture, corework, altitude training, ice baths, active release, manual release and feng shui and you've got yourself one world beating bird.
