Thanks for posting. I was about to post it myself.
I didn't even know there was talk of her going pro. Wasn't it assume she was coming back?

I don't know about you, but I really want to buy some Under Armour now
she looks very skinny :/
Video quality was excellent! Expect great things!
Why did they even make that video? Does someone need some gen ed credits to graduate or something?

No takers?
Bad news for one of the more established marathon training groups. The big announcement will not take place. Who knows what another track season produces. Maybe she now goes another direction.
I saw her running on the Flagstaff urban trail a few days ago- she was awkward af and skinny af.
Nike, adidas, New Balance, Brooks all turned her down, thus a return to NCAA. Sad, really.
the video thing is really weird. If it's true I'm a bit surprised she was turned down. She's ran well enough to get those spots, I would have thought..
I was thinking this might be the reason. Impossible to match last yr and likely won't win a title. Thinking companies are looking more towards the "healthy" eating runners and pro coaches aren't hand holders. Not worth the risk.
How do u know she was turned down?
always committed to returning.
she's a breath of fresh air for US running.
glad she's back.
Yeah so I have a hard time believing she loved ND so much she gave up a decent pro contract to return. So then the question is, WHY was she turned down for a contract? Girls have been signed with less credentials.
So my theories
1. She shows signs of being unhealthy, most likely explanation, but she doesn't look any different from last year which surprises me. The history of recent injury, and "out of nowhere" improvement that coincided with weight loss might have caused companies to take caution.
2. She was awkward on interviews, this is less likely, I mean most distance runners are awkward and awkwardness doesn't really affect your ability to run well, they only have to do short interviews every now and then its not like they have to be charismatic salesmen.
3, She had unrealistic expectations of what companies would offer her and/.or she saw she could make a better living doing something else, Yeah, I don't know what that something else would be with an anthropology degree, maybe she wants to do law school or med school or something, or another graduate type program and take a job else where. That would be completely understandable.
She was offered $60k a year from a prominent training group plus a bonus structure. She was not willing to accept less than 6 figures.
Coach Matt wants her at Notre Dame.
He doesn't share all the interest that come through his office regarding Molly.
Molly believes there is lack of interest.
Molly comes back to ND
Coach Matt wins.
I've been wondering what happened to her. her instagram makes it seem like she recently visited a bunch of different training groups. I could see the Hoka one group in flagstaff offering her 60k/yr. no way she'd fit in w/ the bowerman girls but I thought maybe the otc crew would sign her. no say she'd be returning to ND if she got a good offer. Her past injuries & other athletes concerns over group dynamics probably hindered her prospects
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
