Lately I've been trying to improve my speed and kick. I've noticed that in xc races I stay with my teammates up until the last 100-200 when the kick starts and I can't keep up. Any workouts to improve fast twitch muscles?
Lately I've been trying to improve my speed and kick. I've noticed that in xc races I stay with my teammates up until the last 100-200 when the kick starts and I can't keep up. Any workouts to improve fast twitch muscles?
8x250 on grass with jog backs as rest and start immediately
The reason you can't kick with your teammates is because you are too tired. If your slow twitch muscles did their fair share of the work, your fast twitch muscles would be rested enough to do their part at the end.

Try kicking from 400-600m out and see what happens.
