Does anyone know the conversion from a 3k steeplechase to a flat 3k? If a converstion doesn't exist, what are some comparable times?

I was told that your steeple time is equal or a bit slower than your 3200 meter time...not sure if I believe it, and not sure about the 3K conversion.
8:40 3k = 9:20 Steeplechase
8:20 3k = 9:10 Steeplechase
For most guys- add 30sec if your a good hurder, up to a minute if your hurdling sucks.
All of those conversions seem a little fast. My personal conversions are no were near those 8:53 3k and a 10:32 steeple PRs. I've ran each event 3 times. There is no conversion when you start adding barriers to a distance race, it all depends on the person.
i have run 8:36 for 3k, but i run 9:05 steeple. there is no real conversion, just guts. you cant convert that.
8:58 3k
9:54 steeple
I ran 8:48 3,000 and 9:10 steeple
I ran 9.07 flat 3k
9.43 3k s/c
Work on your hurdling and water jump.
Hill work and speed over the barriers
9:37 3K
10:33 Steeple
there really is no conversion like the other posters are saying it all comes down to your hurdling form and your guts. I've known guys with as much as a 1min conversion and as little as 20secs. It depends on the person.
Actually if you look at all the times given so far you can see that there is a simple converstion and its pretty close: but because hurdling or stepping on the barriers is invovled and the water jump it is never going to be exact. Your 2 mile time = pretty close appro of steeple
or your 3K + 30-35 seconds.
if you are great on the barriers = faster
if you are particularly strong = faster
if you are bad on the barriers = slower
if you are weak or fad in races = slower
I think another thing that affects your steeple time vs. flat 3k is how well you can change speeds(accelerate after jumps). I was a piss-poor hurdler but very good at getting back up to speed after jumps. 8:20 vs. 8:58 btw.
8:40 3200m
8:14 3000m
8:50 3k steeple
7:59 3K
8:23 3K s/c
It should also be taken into account that usually people run the 3k during indoor, and steeple outdoor. Usually has better fitness during outdoor, but could run the 3k faster during outdoor than indoor
