It is a pretty hilarious concept, but won't make for an interesting discussion since it's also a total dick move.

Even on letsrun, I don't think anyone would be enough of a jerk to actually do this.

As far as being legal, I guess the first time you get caught, you can pretend that you thought the cart was abandoned. A second instance might get you banned from the grocery store.

It's not illegal, but you're a dick.

Just flip it. You spent an hour getting your groceries. Some lazy sh!t comes along and takes your cart and you have to start over. Possibly including some personal items. I'm guessing you're an internet tough guy who would "kick their ass."

I don't usually go negative but this time it seems like I must.

Former checker here: This happens by accident sometimes when people take the wrong cart, keep shopping then yell at us the checkers that the stuff is not theirs. How are we to know when younger the wrong cart.

Also sometimes in an active store if you leave a cart alone we will put it in the back for restock because some people load up then just never come back.

It is not illegal I guess but we have banned some people when it happens. Usually there is also a history of shoplifting or other odd behavior.

So as a former checker: stop it.

Point being you are messing with another customer who shopped but also with us checkers because we have to restock what you don't buy - like if you take a cart and it has I've cream or tampons then you put on the magazine rack at checkout that is more work for us.

Depends on the number of items. I'd be pretty pissed if I gathered items for over an hour and some one did that.

I can understand if you do this for laughs jackass style, like the YouTube video, but as for the OP and eating it, sounds so stupid. If you want somebody else to take the work out of what you eat, order Blue Apron. The whole g0dd@ng point of forking out money and having a grocery store with aisles and merchandising is to be able to choose what tasty food you want to eat.
