Good to know this, I do 15 mins. a day but may do more. I don't lift or do strength training but looked at core workouts as a substitute. You are using more muscles keeping yourself steady when rolling your glutes, for instance.
15 mins. a day of strength training would likely do a lot more for your running than 15 minutes of foam rolling.
Foam rolling appears to have become a sort of nervous habit for many runners.

I foam roll all body every night when I sleep on my latex foam mattress. Feels very relaxing especially after a hard workout.
