I'm 22 and have been running for just over three years now. I ran the following times this summer off 45-50 miles per week from around Oct-June:
5k - 15:48
10k - 32:57
HM - 73:44
I have a bit of itch about doing a marathon but don't want to damage my body leaving injury problems in the future.
I know I would be capable of running a mediocore marathon off a relatively low mileage. My aim would be to break 2:40 on my debut. What sort of mileage would be necessary to run that sort of time in the months before hand and would you recommend it based on my prior years training?
