All in the 70s, ahem, short tracks?
hey dumbass last time I checked 1982 wasn't in the 70's.
Neither was 1966.
SOUTH EUGENE OWNS ALL
i like the nyc representation
how about for indoors?
Shenendowa just set the record last year running 1720
I knew it was set last year, but was looking for a top 10 list and maybe even a national catholic school record too
I think the top 2 times were set last year at NSIC, and before that it was from the 70's. Anyone have a complete list of top indoor 4xmiles?
Who runs the freaking 4xmile? That has to be the most boring race ever... except for maybe the 10k.
The field for NICs looks pretty loaded. Anyone got those records yet?
If York actually ran that race, with all of their horses, and someone to provide some semblance of competition, they could go sub 17:15 this year. i mean, macnamara went out in a 70 for 400m + 9m (mile start) and then ran 3:09 for the 1200 after that already...doing quite well for himself at this point in the IL indoor season.

if york would get off it's lazy ass and actually race outside the state of illinois, then i'm sure someone would provide them with the competition.
there is a 4 x mile @ NIC and the NSIC. i don't see york entered in the NIC, are they going to the armory for NSIC?
the 4xmile is nowhere near as exciting as the 4x10,000m
What about that relay that Morocco has the WR for? It's like:
10K
5K
10K
5K
10K
It has some crazy name, and I might have mixed up one or two of the legs..who knows. But that would be an EXCITING relay.
i think the last leg in 12K+ a little to make it a full marathon

you may not know this, but the IHSA, which is the governing body for high school sports in IL, doesn't allow travel of more than 200 miles or some ridiculously small distance like that. Thus, they are pretty much limited to in-state competition.
To be honest, our county meet in high school was better than a lot of the out of state competition they would recieve, when most of the top teams show up. They really don't need to race outside of the state to get good competition early on.
York took 4th at AOC's last year with 3 sophs and a junior. With their current top 4, VERY early on in the IL indoor season, they could go 17:30. However, they can only race out of the state as a club team, post season.

bull. york could easily go to NSIC or NIC if they wanted to. in fact, all of the athletes compete on club teams there - so what is holding york back?
your county meet is better than out-of-state competition? what the hell are you smoking? syosset has run 7:42 for 4 x 8 already, and there are 6 teams in NY/NJ that have run sub 8:00. 13 teams from NY/NJ have run under 10:30 in the distance medley.
