After getting second in the fastest 10k ever Vivian brings Kenya a gold medal in the 5000m beating ALMAZ AYANA. Obiri got 2nd and Ayana 3rd.

Did you see the hug Vivian shared with Usain Bolt on the warm up track? Bolt magic rubbed off on her. She was wiping tears with her flag after her 10k loss now she finally has that Olympic gold medal she wanted so much. Exhilarated for her.

Agree. I had this happen when I was a sophomore in college against a much better runner. He let me lead the first 4 laps of a 5000, then he just took off. I caught him with a couple of laps to go and won easily. I was no where near him in ability.

Vivian has been such a solid source of medals for Kenya. We're so proud!!! Still wanted to see that record though!

The way Ayana ran the 10k and the heats, no way she was winning this.

Both are young mothers. You just never joke with a lioness when they just had a baby. Now multiply that by two!!!

Spectacular racing from Vivan this Olympics. Is she better now than before she had her kid?

Also, considering she nearly equalled the old WR in the 10,000m, and just won GOLD in the 5,000m, should she really be moving up to the marathon?
