He looked relaxed and composed. Perhaps 51.xx to close today? I still think he's got the goods on makhloufi.
Gold- kiprop
Silver- makhloufi
Bronze- Centro/Willis? Have not decided yet.

Expect Ronald Kwemoi to win silver and may even upset Kiprop. The fact he is not close friends with Kiprop(Kiprop and Manangoi are best of friends) and both in great shape means we should expect fireworks between the two. Kwemoi beat Kiprop in Monaco and Kiprop will be keen to set the record straight here on Saturday. Kwemoi on the other hand wants to prove that Monaco's win was not a fluke. Barring disaster, everyone should prepare to compete for bronze. And that might go to Centro or Willis. Makhloufi likely to suffer from the effects of that 800m silver run where he ran national record, more so that it happened just 12 hours before the heats of 1500m.
How were you expecting someone to bother him? Make an annoying noise, repeatedly bump his elbow, throw spitballs at his head?
That is an interesting tactic. I don't think there's a rule against making an annoying noise.

I agree with every single detail. Of course something unexpected could happen, but going on forrm, it should be between Asbel and Ronnie. I Souleiman could be a dark horse as well.
A bit off topic...when he finished and left the track, there was a volunteer holding out a water bottle for him. He ignored it, and tapped the other volunteer to hand him a water bottle instead. I found that a bit odd...not sure why he did that. Maybe he just thought the second volunteer was cuter or something. ;-)
He wanted the sports drink (I think it was Powerade maybe?) and not water.

You are obviously NativeSon and are too embarrassed to post under your old handle.

I love how everyone tries to sound smart on predictions when there are 10 online sportsbooks where you can go see Kiprop is a 1/3 favorite, with Mak-daddy's odds to medal at 1/2.
Wanna sound smart? Call Felix vs Miller when their odds at racetime were nearly identical. Same with Schippers vs Thompson.
Bottom line: Runners have PRs and their "form" is wide available. Predict that Simpson gets a medal at 6/1 and show your $100-1000 bet and then we'll bow down.
Centro will not medal
Nothing wrong with making prediction most people agree with. In fact most predictions you should be ones that most people agree with.
But ok, if I were placing bets on betfair (https://www.betfair.com/sport/athletics), I'd say Kwemoi's a bit overvalued, Souleiman definitely overvalued to be in top 3. I think both of those could have a good day and get beat by Willis and/or Centro. Both of those are a little undervalued to be in top 3 but I agree with the bookies they won't beat both Kiprop and Makhloufi for the win.

Nice guess, Jakir! However this ain't no no NativeSon. Maybe his other brother from another mother! I have great respects for NativeSon and do not wish to impersonate such an illustrious son of the soil. That said, any keen track fan knows these athletes like the back of their hands and can easily give an intelligent prediction.
Centro was even less bothered. A lock for gold.

Wow, seriously, chill out. Love whatever scenario you've created in your head, but no one is trying to sound smart...I'm only stating my predictions, and generating discussion. You sound like a real prick. There's one in every crowd.
Kwemoi is a great talent and the future of the 1500 if he can avoid injury.
Not sure about his savvy in a final like this, although he's shown he can produce when the chips are down. But this is the Olympic final. Still, let's give him the silver.
I find myself doubting that Makhloufi has that perfect race in him for the final. He's got the 800 in his legs; OK so he's in great shape & strong, but if he goes from 250-300 out he'd get run down. He's fast as heck but so is half the field in the final 100.
I'd say Mr. Kiprop has the run tied up, and as you can see I'm trying to convince myself that Centro will be on the podium! Silver or bronze for Centro.
Willis is a fine fellow, but he's 5th-6th at best.
It's actually sad that there's so much talent in this field. 7 guys (Kiprop, Kwemoi, Makhloufi, Souleiman, Centrowitz, Willis, and Iguider) have the talent to deserve to be on the podium, but 4 of them won't make it.
In my opinion, this is Kiprop's race to lose. The only person who can beat Kiprop right now is Kiprop himself through poor tactical choices.
