He checked O'Hare CPT and Mekonen. He is gone.
you can't do that. Runners should pick the pace up to insure they don't get boxed at the end. 3:40s, come on.
Why create a new thread?
Definitely. A DQ will be forthcoming. He took 2-3 steps on the infield. Not sure he necessarily needed to make that pass on the inside. Might have gotten through as 7th qualifier out the heat.
Sucks. He ran a good race but got trapped a little bit and panicked.
He had a brief opening along the rail.. should have just pushed that douche out of the way to keep his lane clear.
hunh? as it was he would've been the slowest qualifier.
They just showed him with a "Q" next to his name as of 10 minutes post race.
Here's a photo of him on the inside of the track.

If nobody files a protest it's all good, right?
If nobody protests, he should go through because they currently have him in. No officials threw up a flag. Then again, who knows with the way officiating has gone these games.
No advantage on a straight.
I thought he got shoved out. Doesn't that mean he wouldn't be DQd?
Ethiopian actually moved over to cut off Andrews, which is a foul. Since Andrews is white and even worse, an American, he's likely going to be DQ'd.

That's what I thought too. Should be OK?

Just as they have in every other race before a protest is adjudicated.

That's for inadvertently stepping to the inside. Passing on the inside is strictly verboten.
Well. It looked like it was already being looked at before they posted those results. It looked like Andrews was talking to judges directly after the race.
I would be curious to see it again. There was some contact I think. But not sure if he was cut off or he did some flopping to make it look like he was pushed off.
Any word on if a protest was filed? it would be by Uganda I assume?
He's DQed in the results now.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
