I recently went to a xc high school training camp and they told everyone how their running form was at the end of it. I was told I have a pretty good form but I could improve knee drive and my swing phase.
They explained to lift my arms higher because I sort of swing my arms like grant fisher (just moving forward and back, no up and down motion) and by raising my arms more, my knee drive seemed to improve. However, they never explained how to improve my swing phase.
What I think can be improved in my swing phase is more hip extension and better recovery (when the ankle of your back leg comes close to your butt). I read that by stretching my hip flexors a lot that you can improve your hip extension. Is that true?
But what about the recovery part? Looking at videos of myself and just looking at myself when I run (shadows, windows) my ankle doesn't come even close to butt in the recovery stage. How do I improve this?
Thanks
