This week I am going to hit 85 miles, my highest ever. I have also had the two best workouts of my life this week.
The two weeks prior to this last week, I ran 60 and 55 (coming down from the 80s) and although I felt more refreshed, I failed to race or workout as well.
I've noticed this through cross country also. When I was cranking out the high miles, I was running and feeling awesome. When I went to taper, I felt more energetic, but ran worse. The workouts that I always feel trashed for on the warm-up I usually do the best on, and the ones that I feel awesome on the warm-up, I do not as good on.
Anyone else have this happen? Is there a reason this is going on?
