I know hurdlers typically have a stable step count between hurdles, so is that a regular thing? She did not break stride or stutter at all. Respect.
That's why you practice using both. In a race when tired you might need to switch legs when tired. Taking one extra step and going over with the other leg is better than overstruding or taking two extra steps. I don't remember how her last hurdles looked when she ran her great time in the trials final.
It's not unusual.
It's normal for elites to be ambilegrous.
