Is there anything more pompously self aggrandizing than these absurd medal ceremonies? The dreary national anthems make it even more unbearable. The athletes get more than enough time in the limelight doing their events and post race celebrations. Just send the medals in the post.

I think the opposite.
I think everyone should get a spot on the podium and their anthem played.

The medal cermonies and medal counts should be delayed for 2 olympic cycles. That way after all the retroactive drugs testing you would have a better chance of awarding the right medals to the right atheltes.

More. Also, delay all monetary payments until the sample testing date limit has passed. Pay them interest on the money, same as checking accounts pay--0.1%.
How about just invite the best athletes and ignore which countries they come from.
