Nike Zoom XC review

    Recently, Nike added to its' cross country racing spike line with the release of the Nike Zoom XC. At first glance it looks very similar to the Victory XC 1 and 2 with some updated material used in the Vic XC 3. It goes back to the Victory XC original 6 pin spike plate and waffle outsole. However it does use the updated "Flymesh" upper without the flynit wire like the Victory XC 3. At $90, I think this is a great buy and if you preferred the feel of the older models of the Victory XC then you will love this.

    I have tested them out on a rolling xc course recently with some short fartlek work and they felt phenomenal. Felt very secure and true to size of previous Nike Spike models.

    I've been waiting for a review on this spike, so thank you for taking the time to do so. Last XC season I used the Victory XC 3, and while I liked them I felt like it offered to much support for my liking. For track I wore the Victory 2's and really liked them so was considering just using those for XC. Would you say that the Zoom XC is less supportive and more aggressive than the Victory XC 3? I don't have any experience with the Victory XC 1 or 2.

    Yeah I would say that, like the previous models of the victory xc, the Zoom XC is less rigid on the arch and has a smoother ride. I have ran in 2 pair of victory xc 1's, 1 pair of victory xc 2's, and 2 pair of victory xc 3's for cross country. in track I have ever only ran in 2 pairs of the victory 2's. The victory track spike is less cushioned and more aggressive than the victory xc. The victory xc is a lot like the matumbo though if you have ever been around it
