Can she work remotely?

Start a business of her own?

She moved so she could support your dream. What are you willing to do for her?

there is not much business opportunity in this town nor do we have the capital to start anything up. We have tried getting her remote jobs but nobody will take her on. So many applications being rejected is causing her to be depressed.

What is her masters in?

Opportunities to work for another company a bit of a drive away?

Is there a larger town within say, one hour drive? If so, maybe she can find a job where she only needs to work in the office one or two times a week and can work from home the other days?

You didn't discuss this before? You can't possibly be making enough money as a coach in a "hick town" to justify moving without some negotiations. How far is the closest non-hick town? Could one of you commute? What is her field of work?

You may have to move. The time to figure these things out was before you moved...you should have negotiated w/ the university to hire her as well.

I am willing to do anything for her. Odds are I will have to bail after this year to find a university with a city that has more opportunities for her. Or atleast a university that will be willing to hire a qualified spouse in a different department.

we discussed it before. I make enough to support us but not enough to make any financial ground. If she had any job we would be doing great. It is really more about her mental well being. And helping us have no money stress than about surviving.

her field is in Administration, compliance, admissions etc. She likes working in the University with students. The closest non hick town is about 1hr45 in all directions.

You seem to have a real problem following directions.

It looks like another move and one hour commutes for both of you.

This really isn't that bad if you really are in the middle of nowhere so most of both drives are on nearly empty roads. In many big cites, it takes an hour to cover 20 miles in stop and go traffic.

I imagine you don't want to stay in this town forever, so give it a year and try to find a coaching job elsewhere after that. Do you have kids? If not, perhaps you can live separately so she can live and work in a non-hick town. An 1 hr 45 is doable a few times a week to see each other. Obviously it's not ideal, but doable for the short-term.

If she is applying to Walmart type jobs. Just leave out her education on the Resume. Write down some work at home job for her last 5 years of employment. If they ask for a phone number for it, just put down a cell phone # you have and never answer that line.

She'll get hired real quick.
