Fields from Rhodes should be the favorite to win the Region. Was not even working at his conference meet.

Fields is talented no doubt..but I think there will be 3-4 runners ahead of him..Start first with Grayson Reid..Lukas Mees, Mac Strehler..then maybe you would see Fields..Although anything is possible and I have not seen him run this year..I would put him in the catagory of a dark horse ..probably a top 5 finisher..Some other Dark Horses would be Hiegel out of the ODAC..came in 3rd in his conference meet but from what I understand he was running at about 80% coming of a flu illness..in past races was able to stay and at times beat Strehler...Should be interesting ..
If you've actually been paying attention, Fields beat Mees pretty handily two weeks ago. He's not even their top guy currently, Sisario was by far their front-runner at UAA's. Strehler has also never beaten Fields, nor has Hiegel, granted they have yet to race this season. Reid has to be the favorite, but should get pushed.
Just depends on how they are all feeling that day. With Hiegel having the flu two weeks ago he should be feeling good here at regionals and will definitely be up there in the mix. I was at the finish for ODACS and overheard Strehler saying he could of kept running, ran it as a hard tempo. He has a great shot but all depends on the day. There are some strong runners from the region and should be a great race.
Impressed with Baird, found out he has only been running 30 miles each week past two weeks, bad virus that he had so pushed him way back in his training but before that only 50 miles per week. Lots of potential in the future with him.
I was paying attention but Mees has a long history of rising to the ocassion and even though a runner might get by him a time or two it doesnt mean at a championship race they become the favorite...Fields is a very fine runner and will no doubt be a champion someday but he will have to get by Strehler, and Reid and Mees and I dont see that happening..Hiegel is very talented as well and I heard he didnt run all out due to his illness and maintained a even pace until the last sprint into the tape at ODACs. Its amazing what you hear standing next to a team tent..it will be interesting next year with Hiegel and Fields being sophmores..and Reid a JR...The field is too complicated to call I think for individual finishes at the Regionals..but I see all these runners mentioned in the top 10..I think there will be another CNU runner top ten and a Emory runner top 10...Possibly one other runner from Bridgewater if Gibson has a good day...
Im a little surprised to seeing the times that came out of the CAC championship..Although CNU crushed the standings and easily won.. their times were not impressive..Dont know the course so maybe it was a bit challenging but all the times were + 26:00 with the one second exception of Reid..In my mind this could place CNU on the bubble for 1st place at Regionals..Rhodes Emory and W&L are coming into Regionals looking very impressive..ODAC was on a very hilly course with many switchbacks and the times of the winners were close to the same as the CAC...Hmmm could I smell an upset in the making?Could W&L slip into the top two? Rhodes is also looking very impressive..have a solid top 5..and whats with Sisario at Emory...Hes crushing it recently..Could he take the individual title? Can he run past Strehler who has been absolutely tearing it up this year? Im going to revise my standings here we go
Team Individual
1. Emory 1. Strehler W&L
2. CNU 2. Sisario Emory
3.W&L 3. Fields Rhodes
4. Rhodes 4. Reid CNU
5. Lynchburg 5. Hiegel Bridgewater
Ok I like some of your thoughts ..I would agree Emory has been coming on strong and I do see Sisario/Emory making a push..Can Sisario beat Strehler or Reid ..I dont think so..I would change your standings a bit..
1. CNU ..to much depth to be denied.
2. W&L Yes thats right!! I put W&L ahead of CNU.
3.EMORY.. The have Sisario and Mees..but can the rest climb into the top 15
4, RHODES.. Fields and the rest are a strong team could climb up higher if they have a good day..
Individauals...
I think on the course at Berry ..Reid is going to have his day...
1. Reid
2. Sisario..Thats right !! Hes on fire right now!! and I think its going to be a kickers race between Reid and Sisario..
3. Strehler..Dont think he can sprint with the two above
4. Mees ..Hasnt been running well..
5. Fields... Yes he could finsh higher possibly a 3rd..
Others : Hiegel... has some speed and a good kick..
Correction .. I put W&L ahead of Emory not CNU..Typo...
This whole thread seems to be one person talking to themselves to give the S/SE some attention on LetsRun.
Give the trophy to CNU
CNU's top five as well as their second five both beat the rest of the combined conference which includes 3 regionally ranked teams (York #5, Salisbury #9 in Midwest; Mary Wash #9 in South). Here is a link to view the race and course:
That's not a good argument for CNU's dominance. York, Salisbury, and UMW are not going to Nationals. Emory, Rhodes, W&L, Lynchburg, Trinity, and Bridgewater could all beat those teams listed.
riots all over emory after trump secures his presidential victory on the 8th. emory runners are too consumed with social justice to run well. CNU is also very overrated, hasnt shown to beat anyone worthy only some scrubs in their conference. my predictions:
1. W&L
2. Bridgewater
3. Lynchburg
3. CNU
"riots all over emory after trump secures his presidential victory on the 8th. emory runners are too consumed with social justice to run well." Emory guys will run well and with heart. Sisario and Mees will lead them to do well.
Emory men will take the region. Sisario will win the individual title. CNU will come in second.

yikes
^good predictions. congrats.
It fell into place pretty much like I thought..Glad to see W&L in there ..We need some new faces going to nationals ..I think CNU showed what they are made of and I think they will place in the top half at nationals and will represent the S/SE Region very well...Congratulations to Reid he had a great year!!and will come back next year I think with an even stronger team.. Rhodes has to be another team to watch out for though.. I think Fields has to be one of the best young runners in the region. W&L looses several seniors (Strehler, McDonald) from their top 5 ..Might take them a while to recover ..Bridgewater returns their top two in Hiegel ( was still sick at Regionals heard him hacking up a lung before the start.. feel bad for that kid hes much better than his 14th finish shows) and Gibson but will need a big recruitment year to be competitive..Emory losses both Mees and Sisario and dont think they will be in the top 3 next year...It was a very exciting year...and it was fun watching alot of these teams perform..DIII Guy
I have a lot of respect for the CNU team and their runners. The coaches and some of the team members came over and congratulated the W&L team. The coach had a lot of nice things to say to the W&L team and gave them some great advice. What a great team and very impressed with the CNU coach!
W&L has three that they will lose in their top 5 but have a talented young team and I'm sure they will get some great recruitments for next year.
Cooper Baird was very sick at the race and has been for a few weeks. He looked like he was going to pass out. Heard his coach asking him if he was going to be alright for the race. Hasn't run much past few weeks. The guy has talent! He is not running near his potential.
Interesting at the beginning of the season most of the posters thought W&L had only two good runners. Great coach too!
Proud of CNU and W&L! Goodluck at Nats!
