That will be his time with a +.5 to +1.3. He still might win.
Gatlin only 9.80 with +1.6

Bolt will win
I expect to see...
9.77/19.55
I wouldn't be shocked if he lost the 100m, I would be shocked if he lost the 200m
I think it's real obvious his days of sub9.70/19.40 are long gone.
I say Bromell goes better than 9.75
He is a strong medal contender and a much more decent fellow than gatlin... I don't like cheats and bromell (i hope) is clean.
progression
10.40 - 2012
10.27 - 2013
9.97 - 2014
9.84 - 2015 (then turned pro)
9.84 so far in 2016 without the long collegiate season, hoping he hasnt peaked yet
the 60 looks also very impressive
6.65 - 2014
6.54 - 2015 (then turned pro)
6.47 - 2016
I think he is ready to rock the world.
bolt is in the race so he will probably have a chance. Im going to say he loses the 100 though. He doesnt have the same dominance he had in the last 2 games but he still seems to have it in the 200m.

Gatlin isn't going to bring his A-game, he's done. Bolt should win with a slow time. Both these guys aren't close to where they were a year ago. This one will be a bore.
+1
What sort of form is Blake in? Let's not forget he's 2nd fastest in history.

Terrible by his standards. He will not medal
I can see the result being similar to the 2013 World Champs 100.
Bolt wins in a high 9.7, Gatlin mid 9.8s, then Bromell, Blake, or Vicaut for bronze a low 9.9.
Blake keeps telling people he will be ready to shock the world when the time comes.

Of course he is dirty. He took for sure to get to 10.27; probably took before but not serious just amphetamines. Then he graduated to a mix of amph. and roids... kind of obvious from the mild weight gain. now he is the elite designer stuff they all take.
I think he has a chance, but its really hard to say today. after the semis i'll know. I have picked the winner since 1992.

Why do you think he took speed to get to 10.27; he ran a windy and at altitude sub 10 that year. Lots of high schoolers have run sub 10.3 and some have been on drugs, but a jump from 10.40 to 10.27 doesn't indicate much unless you also think the 10.40 was also on speed.
The Olympic Stadium is at 500 meters of elevation, not very high altitude but
not sea level either.I see a rash of very fast times in the sprints. The Olympic
records for men's 100,200 may go.Definitely the women's 4x100 relay WR
is on borrowed time, maybe even the men's.

I think he was probably on with the 10.40, but I'll give him that clean. Lots ran 10.3?? I don't think so 50 of them maybe 20-25 that's not alot. A jump from 10.40 to 10.27 is unreal in1 year. probably less than 12 months. so 10 or 11 months, from a low level national class to world class. a 10.27 will make most Olympic teams, at least the relays

You're aware the 200 OR is 19.30 right?
Not happening

19 high school boys have run under 10.30 in this decade...
10.25 is where the IAAF list bottoms out for this year and that time is tied for 187th in the world so far this season.
So, no 10.27 isn't world class now.

19 in a decade is not alot. and the difference between 10.25 and 10.27 is so small YES it is world class. and that is this year not 2012 or 13 whenever.

Bromell was born in July 1995, so when he ran this 10"4 in (May) 2012, he was not 17yrs old yet.
19 since the start of 2010...Olympic Truth wrote:

10.16 is the standard for the 100m for Rio, so if you're 1/10th of a second off that you're great and really fast but not objectively world class.
Different folks have different standards of what "world class is" but more importantly I don't get why you're slandering Trayvon Bromell here but in you're stupid want to run a fast mile but I can't run for 10 minutes without getting bored thread you're trying really hard to hide your identity.
