Ever since I started running in high school I've always been on a team that received a discount at a local running store (usually between 10% and 20%) and it seems that every running club around offers a discount at some running store or another. So I was just curious if anyone here ever just goes into a store and buys running shoes at full price.
Yes, I head to my local Bill Rodgers Running Center and support a local running shop despite having to pay full price.
I pay full price at my local non-corporate running store. I'd rather do that and be able to talk to people who are runners instead of going to a mall store like Footlocker.
if you're fast enough then you should never have to even pay at all. just keep going back to the mall find the one pair of decent running shoes that you can find in the entire mall try them on run like hell. in a month it will be completely different guys working at the store because turnover rates are surely much higher there than in a real running store. buy everything else from the local running store to support them.
Why does going to the local, non-corporate running store mean you have to pay full price? Our local store offers discounts to both students on cross/track teams and to members of local running clubs.
