Any suggestions on places to run in the Garden City, NY area? I am out there next weekend for a wedding. I'll be staying at a hotel in Westbury. I am completely unfamiliar with the area.

This may help:
try out 495, the northern state or 25. nothing says running on long island like cramped houses and expressway running.
seriously, an easy place to go is eisenhower park. it's the start and finish of the long island marathon. cantiague park isn't half bad either.
that's great, thanks. I appreciate it.any suggestions as to which one(s) are closest to where I'll be? I don't know the area at all.

Sorry, but I know little about it myself. I just knew about the site.
no worries...thanks for that.
i did find the already mentioned eisenhower park on that list.
Hey, there aren't any great places to run right around garden city, but if you wait till dusk you can hop on the garden city golf course, right off of stewart avenue. They don't give much hassle about it, and if you get caught you can just run off (wide open, easy to get out)
Esienhower isn't bad, if you have a car there are a few places within 20 mins that you can go to (parks)
Running in Garden City is not too great. I am only in high school and don't have a car but if i did i would drive to Bethpage State Park to go running. Eisenhower is okay too but Bethpage has real trails and is more fun although its about 15-20 minutes from GC. GC roads are the pits and the golf courses are all covered in snow most likely.
i will possibly have access to a car. time might be tight, but should have plenty of time saturday morning since the wedding is at 6pm.
it looks like my hotel is right next to eisenhower park. how hard is it to figure out the loops there? one thing I read said that some of the colored lines for various distances was painted over. how far are the distances and how difficult is it to circumnavigate the routes?
thanks you for the suggestions!

running in gc is AMAZING great suburban atomosphere side streets are great and chances of getting hit by a car are slim to none..
there are a ton of good places to run, you could probably run in the streets but if your coming out to the island definately visit sunken meadow at some point, such a great place with some pretty major hills (cardiac hill) really really pretty, its a bit of a hike from GC- its on southern state parkway (which turns into sagtikos) but you could probably just mapquest it...eisenhauer is pretty nice, bethpage is not so nice but if you have time DEFINATELY go up to sunken, look for the green belt trail
