We always debate this internally at LetsRun.com and it was also a topic at the "letsrun wedding".
A lot of people liked the men's 5000. Dramatic last lap with a close battle for 4th.
Women's 800 had a lot of drama as did women's 1500.
Centro was the boss in the men's 1500 and there was drama for 4th there.
And this being the Trials we can't ignore the sprints. Let's here it what was your favorite race?
Woman's 200m final and Woman's 5000m final
Racewalk. Those are the best athletes. No other athlete has a higher VO2MAX
Women's 1500, pulling for BMart after the 800 debacle and watching her just barely make it, giving it everything she had.

There was a close battle for 3rd. But I don't think 4th and 5th were that close. ;)

I liked the men's 800.
Clayton Murphy picked the 800 because he didn't have the Olympic 1500 standard.
I wonder if he would have skipped the 800 and just run the 1500 if he ran 0.03 faster in the 1500 this year.
Then he probably would have missed the Olympic team all together.
Or would he have just entered the double and only run the 1500 if he didn't make the 800 team. It would have been an interesting decision.

Charles Jock makes a US team after looking so good years ago in college.
Craig Engels gets added to make it a 9 man final as a gift and places 4th.
And they decided to do a waterfall start because of this instead of starting in lanes for a one turn stagger like they should have.
Then there were the non-finals subplots of Brazier and Solomon not advancing and Symmonds dropping out before the meet.
For me,
5000m mens
1500m womens
why was the racewalk not covered more thoroughly?????? That is a tough event and most of them could blow away the 10K competition

Men's 5000m. Lead changes, several guys in the mix to win in the final 400.
I saw the results here before I got to watch the race and it was still exciting. Rupp opened up a huge lead and Lagat was tucked in the chase pack. I kept thinking, how does lagat close this gap and win.
Exciting Rupp could have tripled, Lagat comes from way back to win.
Quite a few good races this year..

In one year I will only remember the women's 800.
We liked the women's 5000, 1500 & steeplechase. Men's 5000, 1500 & steeplechase. Liked the women's 400 hurdles and men's triple jump. We actually enjoyed most of the races!
This is a tough question because, as some have already said, there were a lot of very good races. All in all, it was just a really good track meet.
But for me there were two standouts -- the mens 5000 and the womens 1500.
Several have already commented on the mens 5000. Great race, lots of changes in the dynamics, awesome last 1600 (not just the last lap), but also still an amazing last lap too. And an ending no one expected. It was a classic that will be remembered.
The womens 1500 was also an incredible race. The Jenny - Shannon rivalry (or whatever you want to call it), the Brenda saga, lots of other story lines going in (Cain, Uceny, etc.), the contact along the way (but without the total disaster of the 800), and the incredible finish for third. Also, somewhat overlooked because of the finish for third, was the execution of a near perfect and extremely impressive race by Jenny.
The W100H semis and finals were quite exciting, plus the drama in end over dg or no dq.
