Men's 3k steeple, Men's 5k, Men's 10k. This is like Seoul 1988 where the Kenyans, in one swoop, ended the white man's dominance on distance/middle distance running. Middle distance has been dominated by Africans since on the international stage. This will take effect in the national stage now with a new wave of talent coming in.
For the first time in history - the US Olympic Mens 5k team has an all African-born team

I believe this should be regarded without derision or resentment. There\'s plenty of white talent (Jenkins, Hill, Rupp, etc), but we should celebrate our Olympic team. If the U.S. is truly a nation of immigrants, then the team should be regarded with the same adulation it would receive if it were exclusively white. Being African born does not make someone unAmerican. A person\'s conduct, values, and approach to life should define their identity, not just his or her skin color or place of birth. I earnestly hope that this 5k team is ready to throw down with raw East African runners.

Yes you have seen the points of my bumped threads.
I don't dislike these people. I just don't like seeing Jenkins, Hill and True sit home for this absurdity. Someone tweet to Donald Trump. -

You're missing something......it begins with a c....CULTURE. -
Some virtue signalling? if you are born in america your chances of becoming an olympian are getting slimmer. might as well focus on other areas of your life 'cause that dream is gone.

GOOD, maybe the white guys or native born athletes will start trying harder and learn some tactics!!!! The American born runners should be embarrassed. That race was ridiculous. -
Kenyans are Muslims. They will be banned under President Trump.

I'm telling you man, you have to give these guys a chance. Chelimo is funny/personable/easy to relate to. I feel silly linking to his Twitter account again, but check it out: https://twitter.com/Paulchelimo. You'll like him. -

You are literally retarded if you believe any of that. Maybe leave your podunk liberal suburbs sometime and see the world before posting such woefully ignorant statements. -

he's a) a troll or(and) b) that stupid, either way why would you respond? -
Likability isn't what we're upset about. Race isn't what we're upset about. It's the sense that the people representing our country don't feel like people we can identify with. That intersects with race, nationality, etc. of course, but that's not the central element.

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's lasted gleaming?
https://twitter.com/TerrelHale/status/733079705495207936
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O 'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets` red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
https://twitter.com/runningschoolNY/status/749619921840115713
Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Why can't you identify with them? You need to have that checked out. You're the one with a problem. Do you identify okay with Allison Felix? Ashton Eaton? Barack Obama? -
maybe people should have to be citizens for 4 years before being able to represent a new country.
-
Also - how are these guys US Soldiers? They are 5 foot nothing and a 100 and nothing. I would think they'll have trouble just hauling all the gear required. Do we really want these skinny, short guys representing US on the battle field? Come on now.

The army runners have contributed more to this country than you have. By your own standards you're a tremendous disaster. Sad. Has to be said. -
They just run for the Army nothing else

Yes. I can imagine growing up in LA. I can imagine growing up in Portland. Hawaii maybe a bit tougher but sure. I can't imagine growing up in Somalia or Kenya. I have less of a problem with Mead because he came here when he was 11, so I can imagine being him a LOT more easily than I can Lagat or Chelimo. -

It's not hand-to-hand combat. You don't have to be a big guy to pull a trigger. -
