Who makes the team? Breaks the HSR? Sub-20?
Norman is a beast, but I'll give the nod to Lyles. Kid is just so smooth. 3rd in 20.03.

In the semis Norman ran 20.21 into -1.1, while Lyles ran 20.26 with 0.4.
The adjusted times are 20.14 and 20.30. Not close. If the team was selected from the semis it would be Merritt, Webb, and Norman (and not Gatlin). Norman ran a time in the prelims that would have been well under 20 if he had not shut down with 60 to go.
Norman handles the first 100 better, and runs a clean second hundred.
Lyles is a little slower off the turn and could get into a panic trying to pull too hard to make up a yard or two. He had a tail wind in the semi and I haven't seen him into the headwind.
Both a fantastic athletes. I'd go with Norman as he seems to put himself in a better spot off the turn and really has shown a great last 100, into the 1.1 breeze as he held off gatlin. Not easy to do.
In his heat and semi the second guy tried to mojo him and it didn't work.
But if it goes the other way I'd not be surprised.
Good stats, track coach. Maybe Norman's off performance in the 400 will set up a great 200 final.
This is the best prep sprint matchup in U.S. history, I would think.
Norman

Nah. Norman's nerves got to him and he did way too much in the semi, I don't see him going any faster than he already has. Lyles was more conservative in his and looks to have way more in the tank. This one belongs to Noah

That is my gut feeling as well. Norman seemed to be working to hard to win his heat. Lyles seems to be just a kid having a great time. He'll be loose and fast.

I was off one place and 0.06 sec.. Still Lyles over Norman. Fantastic race.
