Does Nike's aero tape work and can someone explain how.

I'd guess that the side that faces in has sticky stuff on it.

It might.
Specialized did a wind tunnel test with hairy and shaved legs. Big difference.
They noted that is you left a strip of hair near the front it was actually faster than shaved.
It is about how air flows (turbulence is good sometimes).
If it gets you .1 seconds over 28 minutes, I guess it could matter. But it is a sales gimmick... look at how much everybody is repeating NIKE AERO TAPE.
The Specialized test was for cycling at 30+ mph, not running at 13-14 mph.
Cyclists shave to enhance massage and because it's easier to keep road rash hygienic.

Uh huh.
Has nothing to do with aerodynamics, 'tards.'
KT TAPE is applied along muscles, ligaments, and tendons (soft tissue) to provide a lightweight, external support that helps you remain active while recovering from injuries. KT Tape creates neuromuscular feedback (called proprioception) that inhibits (relaxes) or facilitates stronger firing of muscles and tendons. This feedback creates support elements without the bulk and restriction commonly associated with wraps and heavy bracing. KT Tape gives you confidence to perform your best.

Nike unbranded it and gives it away free to any non-Nike athlete who asks for it.
You won't see it in many races other than championship events.

Aero tape works great at making Nike money so they can sue more runners and squash smaller companies with numerous lawsuits and cease and desist orders to try and keep their supremacy as the top exploiter of human kind in producing their inferior overpriced junk for the denizens praying at the swoosh alter.
It does not work.

Kinesiology tape is not the same thing as nike's aero tape. Completely different placement and technology.
I'm sure Nike has done wind tunnel tests showing it "works" but to what extent I don't know. We may see some research on it in six months or a year once the public gets their hands on it.
