Lagat looked great in the heats. Rupp not so much.
Will Lagat own Rupp again this year at the trials (5000m)? It's possible that Rupp will also never show up again at 5000m (at Nationals)

$100 says Lagat beats Rupp in the FINAL.
UNLESS, (and doubt this happens) Rupp or someone else decides to take the pace out in something more honest like 13:20-13:25.
More likely, it goes out at 13:50 - 14:00 and the race is won in the last 200m. So in other words, PERFECT setup for Lagat and Kincaid -- possibly Chelimo as well. -

There were many people who didn't have the standard in the 10000 and nobody, aside from Rupp, pushed the pace. I think Lagat has a very good chance to win this race. I don't think Rupp wins unless he makes it a 13 flat pace. If I had to pick between Lagat and the field, I'd pick the field, but I think Lagat's chances to win are just as high as anyone.

I'm sure Rupp wouldn't mind winning but do you think it's possible he is mostly trying to help get Jenkins on the team while also getting a workout in? That's what they were doing in the 10,000 so why wouldn't they be doing that in the 5,000. Just a thought.
