Of course you've read every word of every LRC event preview, but now it is time for the important stuff, who are you rooting for at the Trials?
I'll be the perfect impartial journalist in the press box, secretly pulling for Kate Grace and Jordan McNamara.
I explain why here: http://www.letsrun.com/news/2016/06/trials-start-friday-got-rooting/
Tell us who you are rooting for and why?
Forget About the Predictions, Who Are You Rooting for at the Trials?

Galen Rupp your best long distance runner.
Jennifer Simpson. She's a miler not a steeplechaser! The 1500m could suddenly become a lot more honest (well we can dream). Our own Muir is on top form as well
I hope he does not try to double up in the Olympics though. -
Boris Berian cause he is fierce and defeated Nike
-
Tiffani McReynolds 100 meter hurdles even donated to her GOFUNDME site a few times she has really overcome a lot of adversity with injuries.
Chrishuna Williams because she was on the 4 X 400 at Arkansas with a friend Shelise Williams-Tate (no relation) -
Eric MF Jenkins.

FYI brojos the link to this thread from the article took me to the "why I sucked in college" page.
Who I want to make the Olympic team:
Kate Grace, ideally in the 1500 but I suppose she knows her fitness better than I do. She's gotta be in 4:02 shape from the speed side, so that puts her in contention for the trials. Rounds of the 800 also benefit her, but she shouldn't best Brenda, and you gotta think Wilson will make the team.
As for the 5 and 10, I don't really pretend to know who will be top three other than Huddle. Lots of girls have run 31:40ish and 15:10ish. I just hope the trials 5k goes fast, as it won't be sit and kick for too long in the Olympic final. The Japanese will take it out in 4:50 before the Ethiopians take off for the final 3k in 8:20.
Men: I don't like jmac like wejo does but I'd be happy for him to make the team. I'd like to see centro and Andrews, and ideally Blankenship. I need him to run well so I don't have to hear about him storming off after he gets 4th again.
800: berian and brazier, plus Solomon. Solomon clearly isn't close to his best but he still should be able to pull it together. Some people assume he's dirty because he dropped so much time in 2012 but I trust any saucony athlete because their contracts make them give back all their money if busted for doping.
5/10: I will be happy as long as Ben True gets in. Other than him, you gotta root for Lagat -

How about Donovan Brazier?
Most exciting young middle distance American talent since Jim Ryun. -
Lagat. I don't want to believe in aging.
Berian. I want to believe some guy who worked at mcds can make the olympics. -
Robby Andrews. Fellow Jersey boy and it's a long time coming.
-
Sowinski....doesn't seem quite as talented as the top tier 800 guys, but battles. Seems like a good dude.

PHOEBE WRIGHT

Kim Conley. Always happy and living the dream.
-
Natosha Rogers. She deserved to go 4 years ago

Absolutely - Kim Conley. I'd also like to see Natosha Rogers compete the comeback, Kate Grace rock it, and maybe a huge upset like Alexina Wilson in the SC. -
Emily Infield.
She seems humble, grateful, and hard-working, and has been challenged by injuries. My kind of athlete. Pretty much the opposite of the typical 100m proud peacock athlete. With her injuries, she is again the underdog, which makes me want her to succeed even more.
I think you can argue that her World Championship bronze was not luck. She ran both hard and smart, and was obviously in amazing shape. She earned that bronze. -

You insensitive oaf. His name is Ricky Rocksford. -
Love to see J Wariner make it to the OT finals and get a spot on the relay team.
Love to see the old guys, Symmonds and Soloman, make the 800 team..but also want Berian, Brazier, Murphy, Sowinski, et al to make that team. Guess I'll just settle for watching an exciting race. -
MORGAN UCENCY
Finally getting back into form and running 4:03, it would be great for her to get into another Olympics. Give the backside of her career a little accreditation and not make her known for the 2 falls. -
Molly Ludlow. Time for her 4th place, nipped at the line finishes to come to an end. Would like to see her make the team.

In the women's 1500, I'm rooting for Rachel Schneider. She went to Georgetown, and still lives and trains around Washington DC.
Also, my big brother is dating her.
