...or at least point me in the right direction. A KB return to the track would be more than a little exciting.
Tried and got it, but it is not allowing it to be translated to English.
World in Hengelo on the hunt for Olympic tickets
June 24, 2016
World record holder Kenenisa Bekele wants to be next Wednesday in Hengelo, during the FBK 10,000 Challenge to place the fourth time in a row for the Olympics. After three gold medals (2004 and 2008), one silver (2004) and a 4th place in London (2012) beckons in Rio de Janeiro again a top result.
Bekele holds the world records at 5,000 meters (12: 37.35 run at the FBK Games in Hengelo AA Drink) and 10,000 (26: 17:53). Like last year, the FBK 10,000 Challenge at the FBK Stadium in Hengelo marked by trials (qualifiers) of the Ethiopian Athletics Federation. For the participants, this race is the moment to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
This also means that there are run schemes, which the runners well within the qualification requirements of 28: 00.00 (men) and 32: 15.00 (women) should bring. Competition has, among other Ibrahim Jeilan, world champion in 2011 and Tamirat Tola, the Ethiopian fastest this year with a time under 27 minutes in Eugene. In the women's standing among other Almaz Ayana (world champion 5000 meters), Gelete Burka (fastest season time in 2015 (run in Hengelo), silver in the 10,000 in 2015 at the world championships in Beijing), Meseret Defar (two-time Olympic champion in the 5,000 meters ) and European Champion Jo Pavey at the start.
So no T.dibaba? I thought she has the intention to run the 10000m.

She might run her time trial in another location as she has in the past, a couple of years ago T. Dibaba and Defar ran fast 10000's in different countries on the same day, Maybe they don't want Ayana, Defar and T. Dibaba in the same race this close to the Olympics a place T. Dibaba has run fast 10000's in the past to get her qualifier is Solentuna< Sweden and that meet is Tuesday June 28th, anyways if she is running she has to get the formality of getting the qualifying standard by July 11th.
Kenenisa got burned by that Sollentuna meet in 2013. He ran the de facto Ethiopian trials at Eugene (Pre), and was the fastest..but then Gebremeskel ran a 26:51 in Sollentuna and pulled a few other guys to fast times, all of which were slightly faster than Kenenisa that year, leaving Ken. off the Worlds team.
So it's interesting that Ken. is running in a meet the day after the Sollentuna meet. He'll get to see exactly how fast he needs to run. Being that his manager, Jos Hermens, is Dutch, I wonder if Hermens had any say in the date on which the FBK Games are held this year....

Could also be something to do with the fact she was found in a hotel waiting to be injected with some EPO...

Not sure there is a 10000 at Solentuna this year, I am just guessing.
Should we hand Ayana the gold right now?

If she doubles and the 5000m is done first, she will not win but if the 10K comes first, she got 70% chance of winning. That 30% doubt is due to Alice Aprat Nahiwoma who no one yet knows how fast she can go if she has company or someone to chase(pace setter).
no 10000, but a 5000 without any big shots.
I saw a week ago the Ethiopian trials for 10,000m are the 28th..is this different than that then?
I'm assuming if he's going for a time, they must have some pacemakers set up for him.
Interesting that he is running on track again and not just focusing on the marathon but this is his last Olympic chance so assuming he wants to go to Rio. I don't know how this will go as its been 3?? Years since his last track race but personally, I'm excited to see what he can do and would love to see him race the 10,000m in Rio
I'm looking forward to see the results.
he will win in Rio, if he can run sub-27.

Geb was 2 years older than Bekele would be if he were to compete at the 2020 games, and he placed 6th in the 10k, plus others like Lagat have still been competing for titles at that age (from distances 1500m to the marathon) so I think it's premature to say it's his last Olympic chance.

Let me translate this for those of you who do not speak the language:
"When Geb was 2 years older than Bekele would be if he were to compete at the 2020 games, he placed 6th in the 10k..."
Not focusing on the marathon?
He ran London this year.
You don't keep running a marathon every week to chase a time like the 1500.
He took his best shot in the marathon and didn't get selected.
He could take a shit at the marathon in four years possibly.
But I also doubt he has another Olymoics in him.
He's been in three and going for five would be a fest.
