Asics GT-1000 Good Shoe?

I have ran in the gt-1000 2's and am on my second pair of the 4's, will probably get a new pair mid-late summer. The new model holds up well compared to the 2's I had that split down the side but they got new mesh. I have never got injured if that's a good thing, but I have never really gone above 30 mpw. I am working up to 60 and am at 50 mpw now and I feel fine. I Can't compare to other shoes since these are the only ones I have ran in, but they work.

Gt-2000s are way better.

I ran in GT-1000s a a few years back when I returned to running after a long break. I liked them, and you can find them for a great price online.

Then I started getting overuse injuries, probably because of my training and not because of the shoes. But I moved up to the GT-2000 and have stuck with them since. The GT-2000s are more cushioned and felt more comfortable to me.

I spent the last 4 years running in Nike Frees, now I have switched back to Asics.

GTs definitely feel like they offer more support/stability for your feet and legs, that I noticed immediately. After hard workouts my feet would sometimes feel sore running in the frees, really haven't had such a problem with the GTs.

I've only had them 6 weeks, but I am very happy I switched back to them, it feels really good to run in them and just shoes that you don't have to go to Nike to find good shoes.

Also as a side note, I spent several years running in GT-2100s which were very similar to the GT-1000, and I never had a shoe-related injury in those so overall I would highly recommend Asics GTs.

I've got a pair of the GT1000's and think they are pretty good if you're after a cushioned support shoe. I got the GT1000 over 2000 because,

- they are cheaper

- they are firmer than the 2000

- I didn't care about the weight so didn't mind if they're heavier

Then again I haven't run in the gt2000.

New version is out now, it's apparently lighter.
