Is he in trouble? With how weak US 1500m men have been this year, he's still a clear favorite to make the team, but this was not a confidence-inspiring performance.

Clear favorite? Huh? I guess you didn't watchthe same race I did today.
Who, other than Centro, do you expect to beat him? I'd honestly like to know. I could see Clayton Murphy, but I still think he'll be in the 800. Yorks? I don't know... Blankenship? Maybe...

They also need to beat him and have the standard by the end of the trials final.
It is possible that this race wasn't important and was more a contractual obligation as an adidas athlete. With the amount of time we are out from the trials, he could of easily just had his last hard block of training before then.
the 1500 is pretty wide open with even centro off his game
The OLYMPIC standard is really going to play a huge role in team. If nobody else breaks 3:36.20, our Olympic team can only be from Andrews, Centro, Balsnkenship, or Merber ... Heath, Leslie, Jager presumably in other events. What am I missing?
Now that Torrence is going the Peruvian route, that is about it; I don't think Heath has committed to the 5000 yet.

You guys think Torrence is regretting the move to Peru?
I also think Andrews may have trained through the race before tapering for the trials.
Distance runners like True and Rupp seem to be able to run fast 1500s without backing off training or mileage.
Whereas if a 1500m runner has a week of hard workouts it may be harder for him to pull off a fast 1500 that week, strange as it seems.
I don't think Robby is any less a favorite in my mind.
Keying his training for the trials, racing three rounds and a tactical final may be the right recipe for him.
Manzano has the standard as well and the three rounds and tactical final play into his hands too.
Could see Heath and Leslie both deciding to run 1500 with the event this open. Jäger is lock in steeple so he won't switch. Centro will be fine, but if nobody else gets standard the 1500 could be their best shot at making the team.

Yep, you got it now. Murphy and Yorks I'd say have a very good chance of beating Andrews. I'd never count out manzano, no matter how far down he looks. I learned the hard way in college- TWICE.

I certainly would be if i were him. Making the US olympic team is a much more notable achievement and he would have had a great chance this year if he went for it.
