So this might be old news, but I was watching a replay of the Prefontaine Classic and was noticing how in most of the sprints a good number of sprinters had athletic/kt tape on their arms in a distinct pattern. Two strips per arm, on each arm one strip on the upper arm and one on the side of the forearm. What's up with that?
I mean I know athletic tape has been around for awhile, athletes often put it on muscles that are sore/injured. That is likely just a placebo, but regardless of how effective it is what's the point of a 100m runner putting athletic tape on their forearm?
