My guess is 3:40.47.
It is going to be exciting.
HI is running in Rome tomorrow. I except no less than 3:30!
1500m 3:45.50 Oordegem (BEL) 29.05.2016
So he's going to drop 5 and half seconds off his current 1500 time?
According to the article, yes.
I guess the Ingebrigtsen clan has had some good sessions this spring. They seams to be confident.
At the same age 15, Henrik was a xc-skier. A really good one also, Norwegian champion for 15 year ole boys. But all the skiing made his transition into running longer. Jakob has done nothing but running (and he has done a lot of it).
My Norwegian isn't very sharp these days but it looks like the article said that 3:45 was run before he had done much speed work.

POTD
Seems reasonable. Didn't you take 5 seconds off your PR when you were 15, fred?
I dropped 15 seconds from mine.
Yep, May 29 he ran 3:45 for 1500 meters at age 15 without much speed work, but after piling on the speedwork the past 3 days, he's going to run 3:39 this week. Yep, that happens all the time, especially for 15 year olds.
3:44:97 today.
BOOM! 0.53 improvement in 3 days. At an average rate of 0.18 seconds per day he will be under 3:40.00 in exactly 28 days i.e. June 30.
Guess you haven't been reading the boards very closely the past few weeks.

Huh?
granted, i was 30 seconds slower.
at those ages, chunks of time are the norm.
at 15, coming into our league championship meet, i'm pretty sure my PR was like 4:43 1600. then at the league meet, ran 4:34.
then ran 4:17 1500s over the summer, which are about equivalent to a 4:35 1600 then ran 4:11 i one race -- skipped all the in between.
then same thing the following year, pretty much ran the equivalent of 4:11 1500 during the season until late season, then dropped 10 seconds in one race. as a 16 year old.
Kind of related a good young runner, Former 5000 World record holder Dick Quax has a son 16 years old and his son Theo Quax has already run 3:52, not as fast as the 1 year younger Jakob Ingebrightsen, but Quax probably has him on something closed to the Lydiard system which is to bring athletes along gradually if not slowly, so 3:52 at age 16 is pretty good, so maybe he will be a regular on the Diamond League circuit in 8-10 years.
Not rare, eh? Going from 3:45 to 3:39 at 15?
