2016 Pre Classic W 5000 Is Gonna Be Awesome - G. Dibaba versus Molly Huddle, V Cheuiyot, Kipyego and more

I don't want to be an alarmist but does anyone know what's up with Emily Infeld?

When a star Nike sponsored American athlete doesn't show up on the Pre-Classic start list, it's time to get a little nervous - even more so when they are injury prone and haven't raced at all this year outdoors,

Does anyone know her status?

Has Dibaba been injured since indoors? How did I miss that tidbit?

She (Genzebe Dibaba) pulled out of what was to be her 10000 debut a couple of weeks ago with a minor injury.

Anyway Regardless of place, I hope Huddle is pulled to a New American Record, maybe even sub 14:35, things would have to go near perfect for that to happen.

Also interesting to see if G. Dibaba can break her big sisters (Tirunesh) World Record, if she does it might be the first time a Track and Field World record is broken by an immediate family member.

From her twitter, it seems Infeld only recently started getting into more serious workouts (though no details on the workouts themselves). She's running with some of her teammates (Shelby Houlihan and Sammy Silva are mentioned) but implies she's behind in fitness.

A tweet from early this month says it's 8 weeks till she races, so it looks like she's just aiming for the Trials.

Hate to be a downer but I imagine that dibaba will just run away from the field like usual. Huddle is a great runner, but dibaba truly is in a class of her own.

Agree it's hard to get excited about a fast time for Huddle when the better runners are likely to be 20 seconds ahead of her. Then again, baby got back.

The closest Huddle could ever get to beating Dibaba is if she could maybe beat Genzebe's best friend Betty Desalegn
