Look for me at the sidelines of Nationals this year, and you'll know who has the best facial hair. No need for a competition.

Williams looked flat at Beach2Beacon, this is the year they lose Little 3's.
The Lord Jeffs will rise eventually!
Pete Farwell killed Harambe
Jeff doesnt have a shot
What about his brother Peter?
what about him?
I predict Williams will spend so much time on their new Alter G treadmills that they will forget how to run at 100% body-weight come nationals.
Here's an interesting question for the NESCAC alums/historians out there - Let's say we took every single team since 2000 (that's as far back as the NESCAC archives go online) and threw them in a meet together. The starting line would have 176 teams - 16 teams for each of the 11 schools.
What year would the top team per school come from?
Who would be the top 10 individuals?
If we limited it to the top team per school, what would the team standings look like?
Top 10 individuals since 2000? Only one comes to mind, a man who ran a blazing 4:06 mile

How many Nescac XC historians do you think exist?

This is a weirdly worded question, but I like the thinking. Do you mean just taking the colleges' best teams from only one year since 2000? That's pretty tough to compare between the same school, let alone between other schools. I would be more interested to put together "all-star teams" (of 7-12 runners, say) since 2000, and see how the schools could hypothetically compare.

How many Peter Kosgeis can compete simultaneously?
Anybody see the Bosox-themed JUMBOS uniforms? Pretty dope tbh
Williams ran pathetically slow yesterday. They're good on paper, but very beatable. NESCAC's is an open race.
Keep telling yourself that.
I'll bump this when they score under 40 points at NESCAC.
From past years performances, I can only conclude that Peter "Finger Wiggler" Farewell needs to work on his team's early-season game. Williams has consistently under-performed in early-season meet compared to their later season potential. A terrible 6k opener and a mediocre showing at Purple Valley can almost be expected at this point.
This is a serious deficiency in Williams's program. I suggest Peter contact Mr. Taylor, of MIT, for some advice on how to make his team more competitive in the early season meets.
I know the poster above is joking, but seriously, these were pretty terrible results for Williams no matter how you look at it. They only had a few people under 20:00 for the 6k (26:40 8k pace!) and I don't think the course is that hard at all. Williams isn't good enough to get by on reputation alone. They barely beat RPI and NYU, and those are teams that also tend to run better later in the season. The rest of the NESCAC has to be licking their chops.
Anyone who thinks Williams was racing all out is stupid
How is their reputation going to help/hurt them in an 8k? No team is good enough to get by on reputation alone because reputation isn't a metric that affects racing performance. I don't understand what you're trying to say there.
I agree though, Williams didn't impress. However, they never impress in September. I'd wait until Purple Valley or beyond before making a judgement about how overrated the Williams squad is.
Tufts, Amherst, and maybe Colby definitely have a chance of taking Williams out, but we should see how each squad performs over 8k before making definitive claims about one team or another
