I know that everyone here on the messageboard is into parsing the meaning of things, so I noticed in the USATF entries for the XC champs this weekend that Nike Farm Team members are now under The Farm Team, Inc. What gives, Nike done with the Farm Team?
they are a non-profit organization. i think they've always been an "inc." (or at least have been for quite a while); somebody just put it down on the entry form this year.
They are doing a smart thing and trying to set up a situation that will allow The Farm Team to continue after the contract Nike contract runs out. Gags will be leaving in June and he would feel a lot better in having things in place once he is gone. He has been through a bad situation when Reebok pulled out from the Enclave and it has left a sour taste in his mouth. He is a good man.
It has been a couple of year since they had Nike associated with their team name. Looks like they just add the ".Inc" this year.
