Hunter bout to set some records
Where is Manzano in that field? World championship finalist yet they won't let him run Pre? I don't get it.
Why is Drew Hunter in the Bowerman mile and not in the International Mile? Seems to be a bit over his head.
Why is hunter in this race?

You would have asked the same thing of Webb as well the day he broke Ryun's record.
Too bad there is no Slagowski. He is more likely to break the record in a field like this.
No, i think I was at prom that night

Weird, the race was in the afternoon.
Salty?
easy kiprop, dismantled kenyas best with ease.
Kiprop will win in tactical form out kicking the whole field.. then Makhloufi and Centro will surprise with a top 3 finish. Idk if Hunter will set records he'll probably come up short but will run one heck of a race

Wondering if Manzano switching to Hawi Keflezighi as his agent had anything to do with it? Looks like one other athlete who usually competes at the Pre is getting left out this year, after switching to Hawi as an agent. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

Pre Mile is SALTY!
This is a possible sign of cystic fibrosis. If you notice any wheezing or thick mucous, or if it fails to gain weight despite eating normally, please contact its pediatrician.
This is an issue I bring up with my athletes all the time. The slang word "salty" is usually used by the youth to describe someone who is embarrassed, angry, or frustrated.
Ex:
Man, Joe was salty about his lunch money being stolen.
But I have been trying to re-brand the word to mean something good or impressive. The world "salary" is actually derived from "salt" as people used to be paid in salt (way back when). Also, to be "worth one's salt" means that someone is competent.
ex:
Did you see the mile field at the Pre Classic? Looks pretty salty.
So I am in favor of the original poster's use of the word.
Salty running looks right up LRC's alley

Anyway, salty makes no sense as an adjective here unless Pre Mile is a person and is angry about something. Unless it's slang use is getting used in a new way by the young pups these days
In horse racing we use it all the time - "so and so beat a salty field to win...."

just did some googling and you would expect there to be tons of hits if it were used "all the time"
I found one
