Nice to hear Lannana doing something.

That garbage dump in New York is a major fail.
Franklin Field is the best place in the world for a track meet.
Are the athletes actually from the city? Hard to imagine Philly and San Francisco fielding a good team. Portland too, for every event without a comma in the distance.
Link Maybe?
From what I read each team will have 36 athletes - 18 men and 18 women. There is going to be a draft, so it sounds like athletes will not be from the actual cities and will just represent the team. So far only one meet is scheduled - July 29 in Eugene.
ummmm ever heard of Shannon R., one of the Frisco Bay Area's most world renowed track athletes? San Fran is a breeding ground for track megastars.

Herman Fernan, Diego Estrada, Rowbury, Hasay, Vessey, Pappas, amongst
1,000s of current, top T&F stars are from San Fran.
Sounds like a great idea! I look forward to watching the first meet. Will it be on TV?
Ato Bolton is from the SF Bay Area.
I wonder if the Olympic caliber athletes will participate in this considering it's an Olympic year.
Ato Boldon ran 21.4 and 48,4 at the NYC Queens PSAL Champs in 1990 as a junior

Super pumped. Time to pick a team a buy a jersey!!!!
Almost like scholarships on a college team, how do you maximize your point totals at a meet. These meet will be designed to be short {perhaps two hours) so distance doubles will be hard to come by.
Must have Team Relays
4x100, 3 sprinters and a HHer
4x400 3 long sprinters and a IM hurdler
DMR
Maybe even a 4x800 and a SMR
Just 4 teams on the track looks too spare so we'll see a "B" team with some unlikely line ups
100
400
800
It better be a mile here in America
HH
IMs
LJ
HJ
SP
Steeple for water jump images- your more likely to get a 5th placer faceplanting in the water image published in mainstream press than one of the winner of the 5000m whos time is a seasonal leader by a bunch.
Are there any details like a projected meet schedule floating around?
3000 or less likely a 5000m
So did Bob Beamon.

Nice to see Vin has some new ideas. There is a reason that Silicon Valley gets the best ideas from young people....
Vin's a little past his prime. No one cares about the USA Meet. They will care less about local teams with athletes drafted outside the area.
If this was a new network TV show, it would be cancelled mid-season.
This'll be interesting to see if it works.
I have to imagine they picked "four major hubs of running" around the country. Pacific NW, California, New York (Boston included in this?), and Mid-Atlantic.
I have to imagine that top tier athletes (Rupp, Centro, Simpson, Jager, Martinez, etc) will still focus on Diamond leagues and Olympics. Higher earning potential and appearance fees.
This US series might entice the non-medal winners or record breakers in the US. The athletes that usually make USATF championship standards, but most likely won't be on a world champs or olympic team.
Nordic skiing has something like this. There are world cup races (international, highest level of competition), then there are OPA (scando circuit) and Supertour (USA circuit) races. The non-world cup series give domestic athletes something to shoot for.
