Since Lance may not ride in France this year i think he should take up running and show the Africans how it is done.

Hey, this is a nice new topic. I'm pretty sure nobody's ever brought this up before.
if lance were a woodchuck, how much wood would that woodchuck chuck?
Show the Africans how it's done. haha. that's laughable. I would like to see Lance take up running just so all the Lance worshippers could see how little of his bike riding talent would actually transfer to running.
Lance has a pretty high Vo2Max and lactric threshold.
He trains hard.
I think Lance might be able to set a new AR if he trained for three years. Of course it would have to be Lydiard training. Considering his current base, if Lance followed the Hanson's Method he'd be quite successful as well.

I'm almost positive that there is nobody on this site that literally worships lance armstrong...jackass.
Amazing we got through nearly 3 weeks without this topic coming up.

With or without the EPO?
*sigh*

LOLOLOLOLOLOL.....
HAHAHAHAAAA
Im sorry come again.
Yeah your right NOBODY worships lance.
they just go into jihad mood everytime anybody says lance and EPO in the same sentence.
I heard from Sheryl that Lance's jackass is very firm, but spongy.
I am sure if Lance trained, he is capable of a very very fast marathon. However it would take a while for him to convert to running from cycling, as they are so different. He would be much better for the marathon. It takes a while to get used to the different training, but Lance has run before. Remember he started out as a triathlete. His endurance would be capable of elite performace, just a matter of getting his muscles to convert to the training. Who knows how fast he could run. 2:10ish is possible
he would be as fast at running as bekele would be on the bike. lances bones, tendons, etc. arent used to the impact of runing, so it would take him quite a long time before he could put in the right training to be succesful. not to mention he would have to change his muscle structure because biking builds muscles that are counterproductive to running. he would also have to have very good form unlike biking in which everyone has good form. just because these are both endurance sports doesnt mean you can carry over very well to them.
I'm probably going to regret this, but I have had sex with a couple of fat chicks and lived to tell the tale. This can't be worse.
Lance would never have been shit as a runner. He has a phenomenal amount of aerobic capacity which translates well to ultra endurance events such as the Ironman or ultramarathon distances. As a runner he might be a 2:15 or better as a marathoner if he trained for it. But he would not have the same success in running as he had in cycling.
That's my verdict. Decent runner. Extraordinary cyclist. BTW, EPO!! Heh heh. . .
Out.
Do people on biking message boards ponder what Geb could do on a bike?
As good as Jordan was at baseball.
As good as Tiger Woods might be at Cricket.

Interesting...
Lance ran 1 mile in 4:15 when he was 16 years old, and he was not a runner. He trained for triathlons. He wasnt on a track team or a cross country team. He was a professional triathlete at 16, so those of you making your predictions on his talents as a runner, certainly like to feel educated. He would make a fine runner, but that is not the road he chose to pursue. You know, you rely on controlled information also when you bring up EPO, now... that's just stupid. You cannot say yes or no he would be one of the best runners in the world, but what you can say, is that, without a doubt he has the talent, ability, and determination to be that as well.
Lance is a great cyclist -- the very best yuppie ever in this inaccessibile yuppie sport whose small number of worldwide participants is dwarfed by the number of runners out there.
I would love to see him take up running, just so the Africans could show him how it's done.

Actually, I've recently created a religion/cult known as "lancism," which, among other things, preaches the importance of eating babies, dancing naked when it's really cold and worshiping Lance Armstrong. If interested, please check out
