Should I do my tempo workouts on the beach? I'm hoping since it is harder to run on the sand that it would also help my aerobic base as well. I also don't have any grass feild to run on in my neighborhood so the beach is the best place for injury prevention. Also I usually do tempo workouts 2 times weekly. I was also thinking about bumping it up to three time weekly so I can compete in the 4x4
No. Do it on the track or grass.

Most doctors will probably say no. It would probably be for injury development, NOT prevention!!!
Certainly if you insist on doing this build very, very slowly!

Running in loose sand makes you run different, now trying to tempo in sand sounds like an injury in the making. Keep it on a hard surface. Pass on the sand running, especially if you're not used to running in sand to begin with.

Never heard of either of those workouts (we would do 2-3 sets of 10x100 with much shorter rest or 10x200 with 1min rest). Regardless, do them on a track or up an asphalt hill.
