What's up with runners and the need to cheat? The "winner" of the Penn Relays Corporate DMR tonight was Cardinal O'Hara. The rules clearly state that "All 4 runners must be regular, paid employees (or retirees) of the same employer".
But none of the runners for the Cardinal O'Hara team actually work for Cardinal O'Hara.

You guys should return your Penn Relays watches, return the wheel, and salvage what little reputation you have left. What type of people have the audacity to do this and accept the awards in front of their competitors?

Update:The Cardinal O'Hara team has been disqualified and GE declared the winner. This thread has served its purpose and spiraled out of control. We have locked the thread and kept up the first page and the post announcing the new winners

I Google'd Cardinal O'Hara and it's a high school? I'm confused. That's doesn't sound like a corporation.
-
I think as long as everyone gets a paycheck from the same employer, it's fine. Doesn't look like that's the case for O'Hara.
-
...this was a HA alumni team?

Nope, the girl went to a different high school. And even if it was an alumni team, that's against the rules. Must all be working for same employer.
-
I just don't understand how people could be that stupid to cheat nowadays and expect to get away with it. It's called the Internet - you can verify anything and expose anyone in minutes.

It's not like the race actually means anything, and it sure made the anchor legs a lot more fun to watch.
Raytheon even almost lived up to their own hype because of it. -
Yeah, it's not like the Turkey Trot you place 8th in last year, right slim?

They are all retirees of the Cardnal O'Harra track system. They should be allowed to run.
They ran a quick time and should be applauded for it.
Penn Relays should have a PA high school alumni DMR. Have it so that you had to graduate from the same high school at least 4 years ago. This way OHara can keep their STUDLY dmr together. -
Nice meme man thanks for contributing

I ran on one of the competitive DMR teams that lost to Ohara yesterday. The competition they brought gave everyone else something to run for. Without them it would have been the usual snooze-fest with a team like GE/AlterG/Raytheon running away from everyone. I hope they come back next year. -
How did a cheating team that ran alongside GE change things for the better? And how fast did you run yesterday, slim?

Absolutely ridiculous. We came there to race other corporate teams, not some freaking alumni team. Really pissed off a lot of people. -

If only, the girl is pen crest alum -
PR "corporate" DMR has been rife with cheating for years. Getting ringers on your team who have no affiliation with your corporation has always been a part of the game. This is a sideshow event which the meet directors aren't interested in policing - they just look the other way. I was asked to run anchor on a team in '94 - which I gladly did - and didn't have any connection to their corporation. In fact, only one person on the relay worked there. It was a great experience though - had a blast.
-
If I was on the GE team, I'd be pissed. Trained hard, travelled to Penn, ran great, and walked away empty handed. O'hara now has the watches and the wheel that GE should have. Theft.
-
Never mind the Jamaican all stars that, are, for reasons completely unknown to me, invited to this otherwise US meet.

O'Hara has been officially disqualified by the Penn Relays . . . .GE is the winner.
