Doper. Typical. Good find by Mara.
East Euro former race walker outsprinting African elites in the final miles. Nothing anomalous here...
Nice blog post by Mara. An intelligent lady and a class act.
Did Mara not notice that the W's leader FELL during the race, thus the impact on her 2nd half performance?

She did, yes. I am guessing you didn't bother to read the blog?
It's fair to ask questions, but I see no controversy here. Callin Hawkins ran an almost identical second half to Kenenisa Bekele, does that mean he should give back his money as well?
The women's race was much slower proportionally than the men's, making it more likely that someone would have fast later splits.
That people care at all about women's sports is ridiculous. It is seriously what is holding the sport back.
Interesting that Mara Yamauchi is an anagram for "slow, jealous tart"
Shame on her for training and pacing well. She deserves every bit of scrutiny she gets.
I am always for scrutinizing performances but dont' get why she basically called her a doper but then tries to act like she didn't.
I certainly don't think the Bulgarian will be the next Olympic champ. God, I hope not.

Lol. Ikr. People will say she's either a doper or lazy nothing in between.
Is it suggestive that something more is going on? Hardly. Is she human? So far I think so. Does everyone have to follow the arbitrary rules of racing and pacing? No. What is the big deal if she ran the second half faster than the first? It's not like she ran the second half by 5 minutes faster. Aren't we supposed to be running faster at the end than the beginning? Over analyzing it IMO guys.
Her second half split of 1:10:35 is extremely close to what the leaders split through the first half (1:01:45).
And while it is suspicious that her second half was only 21 seconds slower than the men's world record holder (1:10:14), it was still not the fastest split on the women's side.
The sister of something called "James Argent" ran a 48 minute second half.
