Can't believe nobody has made a thread about this yet. Michael Slagowski of Rocky Mountain High School in Idaho ran 1:48.70 yesterday at the Pulse Invitational in Boise. Second place was 1:54.54.

This guy ran 1:50i this year but only 1:53 last year (with 49.04 also). That's a 5 second drop in a year. That is high potential. -
He actually ran 1:51.85 last year at Arcadia to win it.

Rye-chuss.
Notice he beat his school's girls 4x200 time. -
1) Looks like even or slight negative split.
2) Fastest ginger 800 in US history? -
Why Penn State?
-
why are there so many people on the infield? that's insane!

So fast he warps time at the 400m mark. -
my mistake.
-
I witnessed it.
-
and a total of about 3 people there that had any idea of the performance taking place under their nose.
-
I KNOW I WAS CRINGING AT THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE THAT WERE NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION
-
Pulse invite doesn't have a running clock that everyone could see. Unless people had a stopwatch on the race for whatever reason, they would've had no clue exactly how fast the splits were or what was happening. People probably just assumed he was cruising to a 1:52-mid or something.

Same! It was very impressive to watch, glad I happened to be paying attention during the race. Congrats Big Mike! -
Same I was that one white guy watching...

54/54 splits. Looks like he'd make a fantastic miler. Not because he's white, but he never looked tired, while also I saw above he's "only" run 49 for 400m.

He ran 4:09 to win Simplot this year. -
Watch the vid again.....it seems to me that the oval feels a bit too small - Seriously. 10 meter short or something?

So 1:48.7 for an 18 year old
